The Cortices technique is a fundamental technique we use in BodyTalk System – a mind-body therapy approach. It is a simple yet powerful way to instantly lower your stress in less than 2 minutes, but if practiced daily it has profound benefits on overall health and well-being.

Implementing this simple technique into your everyday routine strengthens your superhighway for learning – your corpus callosum. The Corpus callosum is the largest bundle of nerves in your nervous system and connects and facilitates communication between your two hemispheres. Well-functioning corpus callosum enables your left and right brain to work in sync, which promotes a whole brain state. Operating from a whole brain state allows you to function from a more calm and peaceful space, improves your focus and cognitive performance, and enhances your creativity, memory, and overall mental health. You will notice you are more connected to your intuition and start experiencing less frustration, anxiety, and stress.

Most people use one hemisphere more than the other and tend to fluctuate between the left and right, rarely being able to operate from both at once. This causes stress in the mind and in the body and causes us to perceive life from a narrower lens.

Our left hemisphere is the seat of our logic & reason, and the right hemisphere is the seat of our emotion, intuition & creativity. Interlacing the two is like interlacing our logic with emotion and intuition so we can function at our highest potential.

In order for us to learn anything our two hemispheres must cooperate. A good example is learning a language; our left brain specializes in picking out the sounds that form the words, but this wouldn’t be enough, as we need our right brain to help us understand the emotional parts of language such as intonations.

ADHD & DYSLEXIA

Research shows that children and adults with ADHD and Dyslexia have an imbalance in hemispheric communication. This is also called functional disconnection syndrome. These individuals also have a noticeably weaker or undeveloped corpus callosum (the bundle or nerves that connects the two hemispheres). Practicing the Cortices technique daily has been shown to strengthen the corpus callosum, re-establish stronger and more balanced hemispheric communication and improve the brain’s processing capacity, helping people with ADHD and Dyslexia to improve their cognitive function.

The technique further improves the communication between the brain and the body, which stimulates the body’s self-healing ability. The brain is the control center for the body, and every disease or dysfunction in the body is reflected in the brain.
